Initiation Night
I was waiting for all 3 cats to start banging their dishes on the counter and meowing.. “WE WANT FOOD! WE WANT FOOD”… well, maybe not Puss, but the other 2 certainly were demanding. Poor Moose was whining the whole time I was fixing the cat dishes.. pacing back and forth. Meeah (sp?) just kept waggin’ her tail… “is it time to eat? is it? is it?” Everyone got fed and I went in to watch TV because Little Man acted like he wanted to sit a spell with me. I picked the remote up out of the middle of the floor where it was laying next to a couch pillow… hmmm.. how did that get there? But the remote wouldn’t work. I took the batteries out and put them back in.. nope, still doesn’t work. I finally turned on the TV with the TV remote and since the cable was already on, there was a beautiful picture of … basketball. Not my favorite, not even a “like.” Moose seemed happier with it on so I left it on for a while. I tried to get the dogs to go for a walk and Meeah was all for it. Moose just looked at me – “not movin’” Meeah and I walked out to the barn, walked around the yard… I called Moose to come out but we didn’t see him… UNTIL we both went back inside, then I saw him walk by the kitchen window. Oh well, at least he had a little walk
Maybe tomorrow he’ll be more interested.
Oh yeah, the thermostat said it was 67 inside but I added wood as whatever was in there, was gone. I’m sure it will cool down tonight. Got up in the 50′s today – it was NICE!
Moose missin' Mom & Dad
Meeah settlin' down for the night
where in the world is Taz?
He ran out the door at 7:30 this morning… but at 6:30 pm, I’m still calling, whistling, & “chirping” to get him to come home. I check with Mike… oh yeah, he was under their bushes at noon. My Dad even saw him around the blue house this afternoon. Then Oscar showed up. Where’s Taz? I asked Oscar. Oscar glanced over his shoulder towards Panther’s house.
I called and called – no Taz. So Wilson, Oscar & I sat on the West driveway wall and kept calling and looking. Finally… Mary Anne called out… he’s up here! Sure enough (Oscar was right) he was chasing a chipmunk up a tree in their backyard. I finally convinced him that I was the nice lady who came to feed him and he came home. He ran inside, ate a can of food… and snuggled down for a long winter’s nap on the chair in the office.
Wilson is inside…. Oscar is looking in (making me feel bad) and meowing. I did feed Oscar but he didn’t like the selection.. go figure!
so – Day Two complete – all cats accounted for. Whew!
Wilson snores
After Taz and Wilson ate, I took my book to the couch. Wilson soon followed and curled up by my feet. Soon we were both fast asleep… until I thought I heard someone talking and I woke up.. but it was Wilson. She started out with a soft murmer that got louder and louder. I think she woke herself up eventually. Anyway, we had a nice nap. I left her all snuggled under the comforter on the couch. Even Taz seemed content. Night night…
Exciting night on the farm…
Well, not that exciting. Colby had meds (Ava had cheese). Colby ate his dinner – Ava is going to eat hers later (it’s in the crate). We went outside and checked out the barn where that hole is. I brought a flashlight, but I can’t tell what is in there. I hope it’s not a skunk or anything. Then Colby (ball in mouth) led me over to the garden. “Yes, Colby -that’s a really nice garden.” Ava went potty (watch your step) and Colby asked me to wait a minute while he checked out something in Lee’s stall. He ran in and came back out within a minute. I don’t know… maybe he was looking for Lee. He came around the outside of the barn and sniffed at the big door. I called him out of the tall grass because I wasn’t sure what was in there that he could get hurt on. So, fun, fun, fun exploring the farm yard and gardens! Oh! Then I realized I had fed the wrong “gray kitty” the soft food. The one I thought was gray, well, it is gray it just has darker stripes, didn’t like the food at all so I put it in the crate on the porch. When I left “the real gray kitty” was eating it – and I mean, this cat was ALL gray. Didn’t see that one before tonight – but at least it got something to eat… yaay!
I just want to play all day…
Colby and Ava are doing great today. At lunchtime, Colby & I played soccer (sort of) while Ava kept trying to get into the barn through a small hole in the outside wall next to the ground… what??? I figure there’s either food or mice or something that she’s trying to get to, so I’m trying to keep her away from it.
