Walkin’ the Heights

Number of View: 504

Today was sunny and windy. Allie was in the mood for a walk so we took off for the heights. Crossing the field behind Lukacs Pottery Studio was a blast. Allie played “I smell” all the way. We walked through Koch’s back yard to avoid Nan’s rotweiller and pit bull and Tom & Jeannie’s lab (retriever?) and sniffed our way around Overlook and back down Sodus Bay Heights. Allie was panting when we got home. I think she’ll take a nap…

Allie “Forest Guide Dog”

It was a beautiful day here in Sodus Point – no rain, sunny, warm… perfect day for an adventure. Allie and I set out shortly after lunch. Allie led us across “the line” with very little hesitation. We were off, Allie leading the way, over hill and dale (whatever dale is) and INTO THE FOREST! But Allie proved once again to be the mighty dog that she is and guided us through and out again to her own backyard. My hero…

After our walk, I sat down next to Allie to brush the “stick-tytes” out of her mustache… she does NOT like that. I was on my hands and knees chasing her around with a treat in one hand and her brush in the other. We finally got past that. It was so warm out, I opened the door to the screened room and put her bed on the floor, half under the table and half out, so she could watch the birds in the backyard. (When I went back at 4:30, she didn’t come to the door right away, like she’s been doing, and I think she was sleeping out there).

(don’t worry, I PhotoShopped her leash out)

Flowers for Marianne

Here they are. I’m not a flower arranger (as you can see) but tried to get the emotion of this bouquet of fresh cut flowers that were delivered to you yesterday.

On the hunt…

I’m so proud of Allie! She finally let me walk her down the driveway and through the orchard. Once we passed “the line” she turned into a different dog! Her nose was to the ground and she was on a scent, no, now this scent, wait a minute, over here… The world of scent enveloped her and I was only a tag-a-long. It was difficult to bring her back, but she once again crossed back into the yard and her beloved TREATS! “Good Walk, Allie!”

I'm so pretty!

Waggin'

Waggin'

This was on the porch this afternoon. They are for Marianne and I put them in the fridge. LET ME KNOW if you want me to put whatever they are in water!… nevermind, they’re in water now.

Birthday?

Birthday?

How’s Allie?

“Hi Mom & Dad! I’m having a great time with Marlene. It’s cold here… but I LIKE IT!”

AllieSorry it took me so long to post Allie’s story. As you can see, I decided to update the website at the same time… Allie is beginning to trust me more. Last night she rested her head on my lap while we watched TV… with intermittent nose digs into the pocket of my shirt that held the treats. She finally ate a carrot while I was there (she wasn’t eating them in front of me for some reason). And now she “goes potty” when I mention it… of course she gets a treat afterwards! All it good. It’s cold here, but Allie isn’t suffering for it. She’s VERY frisky!
